Breaking: Fox News Reveals Saxton-North Korea Link
Ron appeared during a report on Friday's broadcast of Neil Cavuto's show on Fox News Channel discussing North Korea's nuclear weapons program. Saxton's friends at Fox News described him as "a happy man in a bar." No comment yet from the Saxton camp. Watch it here:

Sarasohn: Saxton running what "may be the most dishonest media campaign in Oregon memory"
David Sarasohn has great column today highlighting Saxton's campaign of lies and distortions. We've pointed out some of them here, but it is great read.
It's great to see The Oregonian waking up to Saxton's traveling menagerie of misinformation.

Do They Grow Astro-Turf on that Cherry Farm?
Ron likes to talk about the cherry farm he owned, but here at SaxtonWatch we're wondering if they also grew astroturf.
As Loaded Orygun reported earlier this week, support for Saxton was so low that the Oregonian didn't receive a single letter to the editor supporting his candidacy in the previous week. Not one - out of 708 letters submitted.
So what did the Saxton campaign do? Ginned up a lobbyist for the pesticide industry to astroturf some letters out ASAP. You can read more about it over there.

Ron - The Educashun Guy
Over at Blue Oregon, they're talking about Saxton's first mail piece, which declares he wants to be "Governer." Good thing he got the education tour out of the way a few weeks ago!
Check it out!

Worldwide Pablo - Saxton's Attack Ads Spell "Enough"
Thursday, Worldwide Pablo threw its support to the Governor. Saxton's negative attacks out of the gate made it an easy decision:
As for WWP: We've seen enough. Mr. Saxton may be a terrific lawyer and citizen, but the stain of his opening salvo is just too much to stomach. As early as kindergarten we are taught to say something nice about others before being critical. Those who fail to live out that lesson also fail WWP's trust. As the new button on the right suggests, we're sticking with Ted, and we hope you will too.

OLCV Calls Out Saxton for Dismissing Renewable Energy as Gimmick
Today's Register-Guard offers a comparison of Governor Kulongoski's plans to encourage renewable energy and Ron's "let the market decide" approach.
Over at the OLCV blog, they're calling Saxton out for referring to requirements to use renewable energy as a gimmick:
Who is Ron Saxton and has he not been watching what is happening in our world? How completely short-sighted and arrogant is he to assume that we can sit back, drive our gas-guzzlers, sit in our air conditioning and expect the problems of the world to be fixed in the market place.
Wake up Ron Saxton. Our communities are at stake here!

* Developing * - Saxton Ducking Lars Larson on Immigration Controversy

As Ron's right-wing base becomes enraged over his recent dodge on immigration, Lars Larson reports that Saxton is refusing to appear on the show to explain himself.
From Tuesday's show(subscript. required):
We have invited the Ron Saxton campaign on to respond because he was the target of their [KATU's] report, he has turned us down. Said, not going to happen. His staff, in fact, does not even let us talk to Ron. Ron’s phone number has been changed, which means we can’t get to the candidate himself, he is speaking only through his mouthpiece, Felix Schein.

The Oregonian Slams Saxton for Playing Politics With Fire
The Oregonian slammed Ron for attacking Governor Kulongoski during a recent Black Crater Fire. They said:
The Republican candidate for governor isn't the first to use the glow of a fire as a political backdrop, and he won't be the last. But dry forests and partisan politics are a combustible mix in Oregon, and while an actual fire is threatening the homes and lives of Oregonians, the candidates ought to have the good grace to keep their distance.
This is just the most recent example of Ron Saxton acting like a typical politician who will say anything to get elected.

Jack Bogdanski slams Ron Saxton
Looks like there's one vote that Ronnie won't be getting -- from Jack Bogdanski, the take-no-prisoners blogger (and law professor) from Portland. Check this out:
One guy I could never bring myself to vote for is Ron Saxton. You look at that round mug on the front page of the paper, and you can just hear that squeaky little voice nattering on about illegal immigrants, whether their kids should be U.S. citizens, "I'm focusing on the adults," blah blah blah. "I'm not a career politician." Of course not, dude, you can't get yourself elected. People, is that the best we can do? Super gong!
Good stuff. Of course, he hasn't come around to supporting our favorite guy just yet - but there's still three months to go.
